Review
This is a Cold War thriller, set in the early 1950's. A young newspaperman in the Paris office of the Chicago Sentinel is appalled by the hanging of an American in Hungary as a spy. He rashly decides to go into Hungary himself to find out what is happening, and is inevitably captured and accused of spying himself.

This is not exactly John Le Carre, but it's quite a good yarn. The interest is more in the interaction of the other members of the newspaper office, rather than the rather run-of-the-mill plot.
