This is a coffee-table book. (It's actually a bit too big for my scanner!) It contains portraits of one hundred and seventy celebrities of the nineteen-twenties, photographed by Nickolas Muray, with a few paragraphs of commentary about each of them by Paul Gallico. The photographs are quite superb, in my opinion, and the subjects cover a huge range - Fred and Adele Astaire, Bela Bartok, Humphrey Bogart, Noel Coward, D. H. Lawrence, Claude Monet, Cole Porter - the list goes on and on.
