This edition of the Saturday Evening Post included a short story by Paul Gallico called The Man Who Hated People. The story is about a troupe of six glove puppets and a young girl who are the stars of a TV show, and about the love/hate relationship the girl has with the puppets and their disfigured master.
The story is not particularly good - but Gallico later reworked it into the masterpiece that is Love of Seven Dolls.
